Abstract:
Understanding the structure, function, and development of the brain in health and disease represents one of the great scientific challenges of our time. The emerging field of neuroinformatics integrates approaches from a number of disciplines to develop and apply the new tools and concepts of genomics and proteomics—along with the wealth of genome and protein data now available—to brain research. Databasing the Brain: from Data to Knowledge comprehensively covers neuroinformatics, from relevant computational science and modeling issues to the field's diverse applications.
