LONI engages in numerous productive collaborations with universities, centers and institutes around the world. Several of these partners carry the designation of "sister lab," a special academic and research cooperation which entails the exchange of visiting scholars, scholarly information and invitations to technical meetings and conferences.
The Cuban Neuroscience Center (CNEURO) dates back to 1969 and was one of the first groups to use computers to analyze electrical activity in the brain. Today, its multidisciplinary research focuses on the development of methods for medical diagnosis and the use of scientific techniques to detect, evaluate and prevent diseases of the nervous system. CNEURO is directed by CEO and co-founder Mitchel Valdes-Sosa, MD, PhD.
The IMT School for Advanced Studies in Lucca, Italy is a public research center and graduate school launched in 2005 and directed by Pietro Pietrini, MD, PhD. The school's Innovation Center Lab - Neuroscience analyzes the neurological basis of consumer behavior and uses neurobiological parameters to identify novel methods of digital learning.

Part of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, a large public research university, the Institute for Neurobiology was established in 1993 to build on Mexico's rich national history of neuroscience research. The institute's multidisciplinary research employs developmental, genetic, epigenetic and multi-level approaches to neuroscience research. It is directed by Alfredo Varela Echavarria, PhD.
